The Marketing Table is delighted to announce that our own Margaret Fleming has been appointed to the Steering Committee of the Spirit of Enterprise Forum. The Steering Group acts as a catalyst to generate expression, debate and actions by the Forum. It's focus is on South East Regional Development for the good of all stakeholders in the region.
The South East Spirit of Enterprise Forum (SoEF) is an integrated, interactive grouping of public and private interested parties involved in the promotion and encouragement of enterprise development and entrepreneurship in the South East Region. The SoEF was established in 2006 as a result of two European Union FP6 Regions of Knowledge 2 funded projects (www.re4m.eu and www.criprede.com) and plays a leading role in developing and fostering the promotion and encouragement of innovation, enterprise and entrepreneurship in the South-East Region.
The SoEF's Vision is to make the South East one of the most competitive and dynamic knowledge based economies in the E.U. capable of sustainable economic growth with more and better jobs and greater social cohesion (Adapted from the EU Lisbon Agreement, 2000).
The Forum has set itself five objectives to achieve:
- Create, promote and brand a regional identity for the South East;
- Have a cohesive, interactive, inter-agency network;
- Have a level of R&D activity in public and private sector organisations comparative to EU requirements;
- Be recognised as a region that is efficient in absorbing, utilising and developing high-value-added enterprises;
- Have 4th level education embedded in the region.
